Pearly Gates Set VS Saturday Night Special set in Blacktop Jaguar

Hi guys, I recently bought a MIM special edition Fender Jaguar which seems to be the same as the blacktop Jaguar from a few years ago, two humbuckers with a three way switch. I was a teen in the nineties and love that music - I already have a Billy Corgan signature strat which covers my grunge/alternative/modern rock tones very well. When I got the Jaguar I was looking for something different, more in the 70's and 80's rock type of tone, but the stock humbuckers in the jag were too hot and muddy for my taste.

I've decided to upgrade and was thinking either Pearly Gates set vs Saturday Night Special set for the Jag. I am pretty inexperienced when it comes to these type of hardware decisions so I was looking to see what might be recommended out of these two pickup sets in this application. Any advice or comments that might help is greatly appreciated. I'm playing through a Marshall DSL20CR

Both of those sets are great, although the Pearly Gates has a bigger boost in the high end. For what you are looking for, I'd almost opt for a Whole Lotta Humbucker set instead.
