Anyone had any experience with these cabs?

I like the idea of a slant cab but know that a 4 x 12 is more than I can fit into my car or need.

I saw one locally and the price is right on it.

Anyone?

Thanks...

Re: Peavey 2 x 12 Slant Cab

I've been thinking about building a 2x12 slant cab for my next homebrew, but I have no experience with the Peavey.

As with many slant cabs it may lack lows, but the only way to tell is try it. It might actually be better with just one 12" with the other port open. Many people have tried this as a quick-and-dirty way to approximate London Power's "Detuned Cabinet" concept and by all report it kicks booty. I'm going to try mine both ways.

I assume you are talking about the one that looks like one half of a 4x12 slant...over and under 2x12 with a slant.

If so I will tell you this...I have tried them once or twice, once with a pair of PV Scorpins and once with a pair of V30's. I just didn't care for the cab all that much...it was small and protable but it didn't have the depth and punch of even a good 2x12 and no where near a 4x12. A Fender (or Fende style) 2x12 (like a mid 60's Bassman...the smaller 2x12) is a much better sounding cab IMO.

I've got a Marshall 1966A 2x12....if the Peavey is anything like the Marshall, you'll like it :bigok:
