Hey guys, I was wondering... Since I'm predominantly doing only home recording with my amp, not currently gigging, my Peavey 6505+ is really starting to feel like major overkill. As much as I love having it, I've also become seriously interested in the Laney IRT Studio. For one thing, the USB and XLR outputs would enable me to do totally silent recording, which is super valuable when you have a sleeping 2-year old. Also, even though it's only 15 watts, I think it would still be plenty loud for whatever I may be doing with it otherwise, especially with my Port City OS 2x12 cab. That thing helps to move a lot of air.
Would I be totally insane to even consider letting go of my Peavey for the IRT Studio? From the comparison demos I've heard, it sounds every bit as good as the Peavey, if not maybe even better.
