Absolute metal Monster.
I knew I could do metal, but not like this! I've never used real high output pickups like this but they really slam my Crate Jackson designed Stealth amp( most metal amp I have for now). The action on the guitar is extremely low. It plays great-no it dont play like a Gibson, or a Soloist, but its still super fast and I love it, love it, love it. Fit and finish was excellent-not perfect. Neck is super straight and frets are huge and level.No buzzing or dead spots with super low action. I wonder if I talk to MF about a imperfection in the binding they will give me 12% of for scratch and dent if I threaten to send it back?
Let there be no doubt.I have 5 strats and I love em...but Strats Cannot do metal like this!

Here it is, the Peavey Lmtd. ( well, they probably made a zillion , so I don't think its very "limited"), neck thru/string thru mahogany body and neck EXP. Fantastic axe for 527.00. You'll never hear me knock cheap guitars again.

Cool axe! I was just going to piss you off how it's a low-end POS but then I read your post. I feel glad about your conversion to the world of well-made, cheaper instruments.

I think that from cheap to good they are some of the most underrated guitars (still) out there!

I was kinda thinking about the *other* Limited, the V-Type with the Floyd but, the one they had wasn't in the best condition and that somewhat put me off...

Nice Axe Jerry... Is that headstock tealted back? I ask because I love everthing but that floyd style string tree. Just wondering if its necessary. Them tunners are super sexy... are they grovers? i have never seen them before.

I have drooled over these since they came out. Im a sucker for any explorer type thing.. But I didnt know the jack was like that. Ultra kool! and the neck joint looks like it melts away..
And for the price.... OHHH why do I have to be broke????

Until Jerry returns and since I've been wanting one as well I'll answer

Those are die-cast Grover tuners, the headstock isn't tilt back IIRC, it is MIK and it's a neck-thru, Mahogany/Mahogany/Rosewood.

A PATB-1 would look wicked in the neck and no, no Transformers t-shirt with it AFAIK :9:

As for you BloodRose, at least you have your Mistress.
My Eternal Mistress is a Strat and I don't have ANY Explorer-style guitars

YES, PV's are by far the MOST underrated guitars on the market period! High quality for low dollar.

that is one awesome guitar. not a long time ago i smashed my piggy bank and found out i had just enough money to buy it. went to the only store that had one, in black, but still awesome and when i got there, some guy was taking it out of the shop with a big smile on his face. i asked if they had another one, the salesman said no and i just stood there with a dumb look on my face for a minute or so, clenching all of my savings in my sweaty hand. i haven't felt that disappointed since i was a little kid. the disappointment is still present...gnawing me from the inside...

Man I ALMOST went through this.
THANKFULLY in my case there was one last guitar that they hadn't gotten to opening from the box yet.
Needless to say I got it then and there (rather I had them set it up so as to buy some time ) and paid a couple of weeks later

I have one of the "Limiteds" too, in black, the main thing the "limited" means, I'm pretty sure, is that it's one of the first ones made and the board has no inlays except at the 12th.

The tuners are grovers, and the headstock IS tilted back and I'm not sure why they included the string tree, to be honest.

These guitars are great, I doubt that any of the new PXDs can touch this (and in terms of looks, none of them do).
