I have a late 70`s Peavey Mace VT series 2x12 and would like to find some mods to help get a little more distortion out of it, I don`t like pedals to me its just extra links in the chain. Anyone have any tweaks or mods that could help? I am not looking to turn it into a metal amp as I play southern rock but would like a hybrid sound of skynyrd and zz top more so. I just put a Duncan Custom SH-5 in the bridge position and have the amp in the shop getting new tubes and cleaned, thanks for any input.
