Peavey, Seymour Duncan, and Jerry Donahue.

Re: Peavey, Seymour Duncan, and Jerry Donahue.

I saw that a few weeks ago. It kicks so much ass it's not even funny.

Re: Peavey, Seymour Duncan, and Jerry Donahue.

Thats what I was wondering. My two old MIA Peavey's have great necks. The new Genny . . . not so much. But it was a $170 guitar. I imagine that that one will be quite expensive. They haven't announced the price yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was over a grand. Maybe they'll keep it down to $700 - $800.

Re: Peavey, Seymour Duncan, and Jerry Donahue.

Nice. Is Jerry Donahue switching to Peavey? Is that an APS-2 in the neck position?

That is a beautiful guitar. Wonder how long it'll take Curly to get one? :laugh2:

it's a lovely ax, but I'll make my own :)

Re: Peavey, Seymour Duncan, and Jerry Donahue.

Oh crap... I'm in trouble. I'm getting GAS and it's not the Chinese food I ate last night...

I have seen that guitar posted on a lot of other forums and now it's starting to grow on me. Besides, JD is a major influence of mine...

Re: Peavey, Seymour Duncan, and Jerry Donahue.

nice guitar!

wonder how long before we can get the low down on the 'proprietary switching'

also, will a dual truss rod be a tone suck?

the comment about the 'constant output' has me wondering how they will do that ... i mean, if there is a series option, doesnt it by definition have to have more output than a parallel combination, or one pup by itself?

or did they build a compressor into it? :D

Re: Peavey, Seymour Duncan, and Jerry Donahue.

I suspect that it may have some active electronics in it:

Peavey said:
The secret is a unique electronics package that includes a Seymour Duncan® pickup set—including the specially wired Jerry Donahue Signature pickup in the bridge position—and a proprietary five-way selector switch that reveals these five stunning, classic guitar tones.

Or . . . maybe not.

Re: Peavey, Seymour Duncan, and Jerry Donahue.

I like his sig pickup, but I'm not enamoured with his sig guitar.

I'll stick to my tele. :burnout:
