Peavey ValveKing or Windsor??

Re: Peavey ValveKing or Windsor??

Man, you just can't go wrong either ways!

IMO Windsor is rather towards nice '70s '80s tones and feel, the Valve King is a rather modern sounding amp. It is not so sharp because both can produce many tones, but if you dig Marshalls, get the Windsor. If you dig Mesas, get the Valve King.

I'd go with the Windsor. It's one of the nicest new Marshall reissues around ;)

Re: Peavey ValveKing or Windsor??

I tried out a used Valve King recently and found it utterly lifeless. I haven't played a Windsor...Not much help I'm afraid. I was using the VK in a music store and couldn't dime the volume, it probably comes to life when it's working hard.

Re: Peavey ValveKing or Windsor??

and the VK is switchable class A / B
I really like mine .

What do you mean by Switchable Class A/B?

Well if ppl say the VK is more Mesa like then i guess the VK would be my choice. But the Windsor does have that **** Power Sponge Attenuator... haha..

Thts whats killing me. Attenuator vs more headroom
