Peavey Wolfgang EXP vs. Musicman OLP Guitars

I have a peavey wolfgang EXP (korean trem verison).
Are the musicman OLP axis' better? They are both korean made, so I'm not sure. I dont have the chance to try one till late next week.

I'm actually considering trading in my wolfgang and a little bit of money and getting an OLP axis and an OLP JohnPetrucci.

What do you guys think? Is the pups/electronics on the OLP guitars upto par? Because Ive had epiphones in the past and they are sh!t for electronics and pickups! Also I like the hardware on my wolfgang, liscenced tremelo - but its fairly solid. And genuine Grover Tuners and a good quality locking nut.

Whats the scoop?

I think quality wise, the QT Wolfgang is better, but the OLP's are the better bargin.
I've played both guitars and I liked the QT Wolfie the best. The pickups and electronics were nicer than the OLP. If I ever ended up getting an OLP, the first thing I'd do is replace the pups. However, the OLP's are a good deal cheaper, and they aren't bad guitars.

Upon further investigation.
I dont think I'd go for the OLP axis. It doesnt have a locking tremelo system etc.
If I got rid of my wolfie, Id want another axe with locking trem...

Maybe I'll keep my wolfgang and get a OLP petrucci as well...
lemme know about the petrucci olp guys...

$649.00 with Duncans(your choice), and a Floyd trem(I don't like them, but I would want one on this guitar) as well as a very in depth set-up(always a good thing)!

Yeh i would never get anything from Ed. Simply from his reputation.
Unless if I actually played one of his axes and went over it with a microscope.

I am also interested in both those guitars, more so the OLP axis or petrucci, are these guitars good when swapped pup's? if i swapped the pup's i am sorry to say they would probably be dimarzios but i do not know

I'm always like that. I know myself too well. As soon as i got my EXP wolfie, I was looking at USA models to buy :smack: .
Thats why I made a grab for my mark IV as quick as possible. :fing25:

I've only played one OLP (Axis), and it seemed sh*ttier than my Squiers. Of course, it had what felt like .007 guage strings on it, and really light strings always make guitars feel cheap to me.

Depending on the top, the price on Ebay seems to fluctuate between $500-$1000. Close to what D*ckhead Roman is charging for junk. You won't realize the quality and great design elements put into these things until you have one in your hands for a few days.
