The backstage plus is solid state practice amp. It was my first amp and I liked it. It had the begining technology of the transtube circuitry. The transtube sound is better now but it wasn't that bad then. It has a gain and saturation knob, as well as pull bright and pull thick switches. It aslo has a plate reverb.
I just used it as a practice amp at home. Actually I would still use it (because I like to have amps all over the house) but it has a crackling noise now that is really annoying. I think it has to do with the input jack.
