Peavy Valve King Help!!!

Actually I was just thinking about investing in a Peavy Valve King 100tube half stack. I played on it once, and sounded sweet. I have under a grand, and want to invest in a decent tube amp through musiciansfriend. What do you guys think of the Valve King, just need some opinions on it, before I make a decision. I play mostly Metal, rock, and blues. And for me it sounded like it was very versitile, but I could be wrong.

Also what do you think about any of the B-52's, I know alot are solid state, but how good are those tones?

Its a "good" amp, but Peavey makes much better amps than the VK. For the price range, there aren't a lot of all tube options.

Skip the whole musicans friend thing, and instead take that money and Find a good used amp. You'll be able to get something WAY better than a valveking for $1k if you buy used. The VK's aren't Bad amps or anything, But if you take your time and find a used amp instead you can do MUCH better for the same money.

Thanks a bunch, ill give ebay a shot on some marshalls or orange's if there getting rid of them dirt cheap.
