I’m going to sacrifice a power supply and splice an ammeter in the loop and sus out the real current requirements of all my “mystery” pedals.

Although a multimeter works great, this exists:

I like it. I wonder how much a pedal’s power consumption might vary with usage conditions.

Oh noes! My MXR 10-band EQ is hardwire bypass! What is it with them? So much hardwire BP.

Buy a $4 connector cable and splice that? It'll with any supply too; for other than 9v.
