pedal chain battery question.

hi,

once my pedalboard has been delivered im going to start velcroing all my pedsl on and getting an order i like etc.

ive got a 1spot with a 7 daisy chain adapter, and it wont be plugged in all the time obviously.

if i have a 9v battery in each asa backup, will leavng all the patch cables in drain the batteries?

i want to be able to leave everytihng connected and jsut add the input lead and the output lead to my amp and keep all the patch cables in place.

will this use all the battery?

As long as the adapter plugs are still plugged in to the pedals the batteries will not drain. By plugging in the adapter plug, the battery is disconnected from the circuit.

I use a dunlop DC brick and I love it, just plug everything in, Velcro the thing on the board as if it was a pedal and now setting up the board is plug in and play. Tried the one spot, was a little messy for my clean freak tastes

hey,

so if i leave the DC adpaters in the plugs but withotu the one spot atatched it will not drain the battery?

i lvoe the 1 spot for the reason its not a brick. but thats jsut me saving pace a on a small pedal board

If by "DC adapters in the plugs" you mean the plugs in to the pedals, then yes, that is exactly it. As long as the battery is disconnected from the circuit, be it the input plug pulled out or a DC adapter plug inserted to the adapter jack, the battery will not drain.

The plug is the part that plugs in to the pedal.

As long as the DC cables are plugged into the effect box, you should not be draining you batteries. It doesn't matter if the power is on or not. Remove the DC cables and you're back to battery power, and if you're patch cables are still connected, yes the batteries will drain.

BTW - I know the 1 Spot seems cheaper and smaller, but its noisy. Mine had alot of hum, but the brick seemed to fix that.
