Pedal for Rock soloing

Re: Pedal for Rock soloing

Yes, this is the pedal page........

Since you already have an idea of what you want your amp to do, would you consider an observation and a suggestion form another Orange Crush owner?

What speaker is your little friend? It probably has a Voice to the World or some such speaker. Please consider replacing it before you look for pedals.

I've got the CR60 and within a few weeks of purchase and the honeymoon was over, it started to sound like it had a rug over it. Replaced the original with an Eminence Governor [V30 equivalent] . This was a great move. The amp opened up and really shows how good the electronics really are. I think your amp has a 10 inch speaker. A new speaker will probably be a bit over your budget, however, in this situation, the trade off might be worth it. The clean channel will start to run clean and as you up the gain will start to have a nice break up which is harder to hear with the stock speaker.

And I run a Fulldrive 2 usually set to flat mids with my Orange Crush. Set my guitar to about 6 or 7 , and back the FD gain down to edge of break up.

Yeah, you can get some great sounds out of the little Orange.

And look for Dave Simpson on Youtube. He has a series of videos using his Orange Crush to duplicate other guitarists sounds:

Re: Pedal for Rock soloing

Well, I dig the 805, but it might not be enough gain for flat-out rock tones.

Yes a nice pedal for sure, liked the demos, but out of the price range I would like to spend. Been comparing the Mooer Pure Boost Pedal and the T.C Electronics Spark Mini Booster. I like both pedals from the demos, but leaning towards the Spark it seems to be a little more clean than the Mooer, the Mooer seems to get a little muddy at higher gain.

Re: Pedal for Rock soloing

About $80 on eBay with free shipping from Thailand (and a 2 week wait till it arrives...) :naughty: These are quality pedals ..honestly when it comes to rock/blues distortion I don't think there's anything out there that sounds this good for the price.. I've had one for a couple of years now & it's really cool..

Dude makes some really awesome OD pedals as well ..the "Warm Drive" & "Sonar Drive"

Re: Pedal for Rock soloing

Looks like from your Sonar video I take it your using the same guitar as the Distortion? Wondering what Sonar would sound like with Strat single in neck and middle and Humbucker in Bridge. Sounds good with your setup for sure.

Whoahh ..not my demo ..wish I could play like that dude haha ( ..but I can't :laugh2: )

It's just a great sounding OD. I actually have the Visa (Distortion) & his "Warm Drive" OD ..the Sonar is next on my own "to get" list..

I would totally recommend his pedals to anyone though (as a completely unconnected - but really happy customer... lol) ..they're all awesome.

I have and use a Mooer Pure Boost - overall I really like it, but don't use it at high gain and wish the big knob was volume, not gain.
