Pedal friendly budget amps

Re: Pedal friendly budget amps

A Peavey 112 Bandit, even a new one, should fit in your price range. The TransTube models sound ridiculously good with pedals.

I always wanted to try one of those out, but was always put off by the fact that it's solid state. Weird, because I used to own a TT Blazer.

Re: Pedal friendly budget amps

For years I loved using pedals through my Fender Blues Deluxe.

With today's distortion pedals, you can get a really great overdriven sound and feel from just pedals and that amp takes them very very well.

When I auditioned my Florentine Les Paul
I used a new Bandit and an old Twin Reverb
While the Twin sounded glorious the week before
The Bandit was the better amp that day
