Pedal Mod Questions

So, today I bought a Danelectro Fab Overdrive pedal from GC for 8 dollars on clearance. I figured "Heck for that cheap it isn't like I will lose." cause I have been wanting to get a more vintage type distortion for a while. I wasn't expecting anything amazing. But, it was certainly better than my expectations. Much better. Though I was wondering if anybody knew anything about how I could mod it to get it even more tubeish sounding and more warm. Maybe a place I can go to find out even? I figure it will be worth it. I mean it isn't like I shelled out a tone of money for the pedal. So, I am not gonna worry about ruining it. Thanks in advance!

If you had some specifics on what you'd want the pedal to do,it's possible we could get closer to that end? Also.....Does your pedal actually have room and components that can be changed? Alot of those pedals have micro technology components and you can't tweak anything...The MXR Double Shot is 1 such pedal like that...I've not modded this particular pedal and so I'd have to trace the circuit and you'd have to figure in my extra time on that..

Is that pedal worth the extra time and money to achieve what you need from it?
