Pedal purchases are done (I think) Time to stage the pedalboard.

I'm not really a DIY kind of guy but I've got a friend that's pretty handy. So we are going go homegrown on my pedalboard. I've got the pedals in place. Considering the addition of a Chorus but I am leaving some room for growth in the build.

This thing is going to be a bit bigger than I had originally thought but I guess I just have several pedals with larger than average footprint.

I will try and post a pic later of the pedals.

Here are considerations for the board....

Angled or tiered? - We've discussed going angled for ease of build. Building it out of solid wood my concernc is that a tiered board will be heavy. Or heavier than it has to be.

How to conceal cables? - I don't want a tangled mess of cables and power supplies to be visivle. Looking to run them underneath some how. Maybe take a page from the Pedaltrain play book and run slats with space between.

Signal path - I will outline the pedals in a second and you guys can help with this. I know I want my Volume pedal towards the end. Right before the delay maybe? But I want it on the first row. I know it is a matter of running cables. Which makes concealing them more of a concern for me.

Ok... now for the pedals.

Ibanez Weeping Demon Wah
MXR Dynacomp
Fulltone Fulldrive 2
Big Muff PI
MXR 10 band EQ
Deluxe Electric Mistress
Little Alligator Volume
Boss DD20 - w/ tap tempo switch
2 button footswitch (Amp's onboard Reverb and Tremolo)

Again... Ias I mentioned 'm planning to maybe add a chorus pedal. All the other pedals are set but may be replaced with another pedal of similar function. For instance I'm not totally happy with the Little Alligator but I picked it up for $20.

Just for reference my amp is an AC15C1 and I'm playing an MIM Strat HSS with a Pearly Gates in the bridge.

Let the games begin!

Plywood platform cut to around 32 X 14
Plywood shelf cut to around 25 X 7
Wood spacers tall enough that a Pedal Power II can fit under your shelf.

Buy black ozite (female velcro fabric). Use industrial spray glue and staples to attach it. Fold it over the board and shelf, stapling on bottom. Add small rubber feet. Screw the spacers to the board and shelf.

Total price should be around $25.

In my opinion an angled and tiered set-up is best.

The wah and the volume pedal are likely to take up most of the depth of the board. I would run guitar into volume into wah. From a practical standpoint this will allow you to have those two pedals slanted (only) and the second level of your board would not run the full length.
