Pedal Tuner Recommendation

Perfect. :friday:

Re: Pedal Tuner Recommendation

They've only been making one for, what, ten years now?

Haha, I actually knew of that one, but I guess I've just wanted to forget about it.. It looks baaad. But I guess it does the job.

D*** you! I read up on the Turbo Tuner (which is kind of a stupid name, by the way), and now I want one. (I liked the original Strobostomp, but mine was eaten by wolves.)

It's quite good. It's versatile and has a lot of features, including Buzz Feiten presets. The fluorescent display could be hard to read under certain lighting conditions, and the array of different bars moving in different directions could be confusing, at least to me. Still, when I was done tuning a guitar with it, that guitar would sound more in-tune than the results I'd get with my other tuners.

Re: Pedal Tuner Recommendation

i have a peterson strobo flip for setups, boss Tu2 & a turbo, i like the turbo because i can leave it plugged in for months & not run the batt down, but i dont like the button switch it is not as smooth as the TU2,i leave the turbo at my shop hooked up all the time, i take the TU2 w/me to jams & gigs, i like the (TU2 pedal switch it is smoother)i use it for the tuner & a ( mute pedal) i like all 3 for diff apps

Re: Pedal Tuner Recommendation

I have my tuner first or second in my chain, and actually prefer my tuner pedal to have a buffer... not true bypass... to help with signal strength. For me, the Korg DT-10 has always worked great. But I have zero experience with anything else, so my knowledge is limited.

BTW, does anyone make a strobe tuner that has a buffer?

I keep mine last so I could mute out the entire board if I want to hot swap a pedal.

Re: Pedal Tuner Recommendation

i fail to see any reason to own anything but the Pitchblack?!

Re: Pedal Tuner Recommendation

I have one of the Planet Waves Tru-Strobes, as a tuner it works great, but I do get some noise coming through it when I have it in the chain which was disappointing. If I had bought it new I would have taken it back, but since it was an ebay purchase, I just use a TB box to keep it out of the signal chain.

Re: Pedal Tuner Recommendation

I've never understood why you need a strobe tuner? They are confusing to use and hard to read. I can see having it on your work bench so you can intonate a guitar, but for stage use I just need something to get me in tune. I use a Boss TU3
