Re: Pedalboard Completed . Commentary. Pics.

Damn! I was waiting for an entertaining long response from you

Sorry to have let you down...I just feel like most guys see this board as the same bit of stupid mess that it really is...I mean, come one...9 f'in dirt boxes, most of them covering the same ground..

I really wonder if Jerry even plays of if he just buys all this crap gets loaded on cheep beer than gets on line to brag about all his crap...

^Well, Im not gonna argue with that, you got me pegged, but *also the pedals on the top row each sound different. Plus, they are timeless classics. Who could argue with that?
Now, the Dist+ kind of sounds like the Landgraff with diodes lifted a liittel to me, but not as good, and I'd Ixnay it, but its the Classic Rhandy Rhoads pedal, and thus has a rightfull spot on my Classics pedalsboard ( plus some people say ot sounds great with a cranked Marshall).and the Bluesbreaker covers some of the same ground as the Guv'nor, but they are different enuf.
The Clark has a tweed voiced thing going on,and its a great pedal and kind of gets the same sort of old bassman/Bluesbreaker in a box thing going on as the Bluiebreaker, so you could say i could maybe leave the Bluesbreaker off.
I think some of you are being hypercritical.

I would still like to have all of those 9 dirt boxes at some point in the same board.

Of course, I would end up thinning up the herd more sooner than later.
But you gotta admit it must be a fun game to play.
It's not like he's collecting Arion distortion pedals.

I remember a gig I did once, the opening band's guitar player left his pedalboard on stage for me to use. And there were the following dirt boxes in it:
Vox Satchurator, Metal Zone, Digitech Metal Master, DS1, SD1, BD2, Digitech Hardwire Valve Disstortion, and I think a Visual H2O too.

All going into a freakin' Marshall DSL50 stack.

I could understand having all of those for recording/comparing purposes.
For a stage? Give me a break. Live, for me two is enough. Three is usually not needed in my case.

And they only played 6 songs. So less songs than dirt boxes. I didn't get it.

That seems odd to me; I can't think of a single situation where I would need 9 different overdrives or distortions. 3 tops, but 9 is a lot. What ever floats your boat I guess.

So I guess I gotta ask; which one is your favorite?

I have 6-7 on my board. I just do recording. The different flavors are useful in fine tuning the sound I need for a particular part

Recording is a totally different animal though, and I get it. I know a ton of studio guys who have much, much more than 9 or 10 overdrives, but usually just not on a board. If I was working in the studio, I'd probably keep them in a case, but not wired on a board. Different strokes I guess.

Re: Pedalboard Completed . Commentary. Pics.

I agree with others I can understand 9 different dirt boxes (4 different fuzzes 3 dist and 2 ods) but 9 ods including two ts808s is a bit extreme then again I generally have a clean amp so use distortion and fuzz more including distortion pedals modded for only a little hair.
That said I am jealous you have that many good pedals mind od's I have probs about 13 pedals but only a few of them are really useable (the rest are off to eBay) the only actual "overdrive" i have is a digitech tone driver which is blah at best

Its just a function of time. With all of them in loops and ready to go I can find what I need in the least amount of time.
