VooDoo Lab ISO 5. Couldn't ask for a better supply for a small/medium-sized board.

Re: Pedalboard Power Supply

Visual Sound 1-Spot

Pros - Cheap, reliable, quiet, powers all the boss/marshall/dunlop pedals that I have.
Cons - Only comes in black? No real cons to speak of.

Re: Pedalboard Power Supply

I disagree that the price is a con with that unit. It's worth every penny. If it was not, then it would be a con.

The PPII+ is the perfect unit.

I agree it's well worht the price and then some!

However some guys may fdeel that nearly 200 clams for something that, they feel a One Spot does just fine is too much green.

However, IMHO the PPII+ is the best thing I ever did for my rig...that and high quality cables!

I have 3 boards. I use one with my Fender's, one with my Marshall, & then I have a large board that I use with 2 amps. All 3 are powered with one Spots. They work fine for the pedals I have.

All my boards have Chorus (CE2) Delay (DD3) Over drive (TS9 or TS808 clone), Wah and tuner. That's pretty much it. Some pedals are a lot more complex, like some of the line 6 pedals, these require more power and could justify there own source of power. In my case the 3 boards I have work fine with the one spots. My large board was a little difficult to set up. I have an A/B/Y on the board so I can switch between 2 different amps & I have different effects going into each. This was causing some ground loop hum, but I used a humx on both amps & that took care of it.

Re: Pedalboard Power Supply

2 no-name chinese wall warts, no hum, hiss, crackle or pop. $20AUD each.

Re: Pedalboard Power Supply

I was using a Visual Sound One Spot but it was not agreeing with my stuff at all; very, very noisy. I now have a Voodoo labs ps and have no problems.

Re: Pedalboard Power Supply

voodoo labs PPII+ here. i have owned a BBE supa charger also. i can safely say that the supa charger is just as good. as it is an almost exact copy.

Pros-works very well and is dead quiet.
Cons-takes 2 of the outputs to power 18 volt. and it does not put out enough ma's to power the TC pedals properly. but those are small issues.

Re: Pedalboard Power Supply

Right now I've got a Maxon 9v adapter going into my Planet Waves pedal tuner, and a daisy chain does the rest.

Pros: ~$25, pretty consistent (as far as I can tell)

Cons: Pain in the ass to setup, pedal position is restricted by length/orientation of daisy chain, can only power 9v pedals (but the majority are anyway)

I'm glad this thread is here because I've been thinking about upgrading to the Supa Charger or the PP2+. In my mind the Pedal Power has everything you could ever need!

I have to ask then, what made you switch from the BBE to the PP2+? The BBE looks like a good deal just because it's $30 cheaper...

Re: Pedalboard Power Supply

I've tried all these:

1 Spot
Pros: cheap; small (sideways) wall wart
Cons: cheap; expereinced some noise; died after 2 years

Dunlop Brick
Pros: 8 outputs & 3 18v outputs; cool blue LED; size is pedal board friendly
Cons: 9v outputs require 1/8" jack on 1 end - not the standard barrel connector; not isolated

PPII+
Pros: isolated outputs, sag, ACA/PSA switchable; outputs can be combined to create 18v output; courtesy AC jack
Cons: expensive (but worth it); uses heavy grounded AC cord

T-Rex Fuel Tank Junior
Pros: small size = pedal board friendly; isolated outputs; fixed my noise problem
Cons: price (but worth it); only 5 outputs (perfect for my board tho); uses heavy grounded AC cord

Godlyke
Pros: similar to 1 Spot; comes with a large kit of adapters
Cons: not enuff expereince... was replaced very quickly

Re: Pedalboard Power Supply

OneSpot for me...powers 5 pedals for 5 years, no noise, no hum, and it was $30.

Re: Pedalboard Power Supply

Visual Sound 1 Spot user here....I get zero hum with it, so that's my pro. It's not bulky either.
