Re: Pedals you now own and pedals you use to own

About a year ago I had a huge pedal board. I've sold a few since then.

My signal is:

535Q (bought it when I was about 15 at the local shop)
MXR Classic Overdrive (Last year right before a gig, my tubescreamer went out, bought this for $40)
Way Huge Swollen Pickle (bought it for bass, was too muddy and so I started using it on guitar)
Monster Effects Mastortion (went to Atlanta for my little sister's wedding, and saw this at a guitar shop, plugged it in, then convinced my wife it was a good investment)
MXR 10 Band EQ (got it cause I like more control over tone)
Electro Harmonix Sovetek Small Stone (got it for $60 used at Guitar Center)
MXR Black Label chorus (wanted to have a little more room, so I got rid of my Sterero Chorus and bought this)
MXR Smart Gate (I think I bought it when i was drunk, but it was still a good investment)

I sold my MXR Carbon Copy and Bass Octave Deluxe. I also used to have an MXR Flanger, a Boss acoustic simulator, an MXR Fullbore Metal, a Way Huge Ring Worm, and an Ernie Ball Volume Pedal (accidentally bought the wrong one (got the one for actives)), but one of my lead players uses actives, so he gave me full price for it. Never got around to buying a new one, and I think I ended up getting gas for my car instead.

For my bass, my pedal board is very complicated

MXR Custom Badass '78 Distortion (newest pedal, got it because my Fender Rumble's overdrive is just good enough. This has a really cool overdrive fuzz combo sound)

Re: Pedals you now own and pedals you use to own

Thanks for prompting me to do this...very cathartic...especially since I realize I have few regrets with what was ultimately sold. This represents 33 years of messing around with effects (with a hiatus from about 1988-1998, or so).

On board now (*denotes pedal on the board for more than a year):

Mu-Tron III (original, with power supply…when I need to get my Jerry Garcia fix)
MXR Phase 90 script
Xotic EP Booster
Wilson Colorsound-style wah
Zinky Master Blaster
ZVEX Box of Rock

Chandler Blue Tube
Memphis distortion box
DOD boost of some kind
DOD chorus of some kind (some lame early 1980's thing with a weird switch)

Tried and returned but not purchased, mostly within the last 5 years (note, I am meticulous about keeping the pedals in brand new, in the box condition when I am demo-ing them, and most were returned within two days…I don’t want to abuse the generous return policy of some stores):

Re: Pedals you now own and pedals you use to own

I have a Monte Allums modded Boss SD1 and a Maxon 808OD RI, although I don't use either for my current rigs, as I plug straight in. I did order an EH LPB-1, though, for a clean boost.

In the past I owned a Tube Screamer and a stock Boss SD-1 that provided many years of service. A handful of delay, chorus, and phase pedals rarely lasted more than a month. I also had a Boss tuner pedal, which I can see having again.

Re: Pedals you now own and pedals you use to own

Back in the mi-late 90's, I had this DOD pedal called the Juice Box. Pretty cool for it's time. I'd love to hear how it'd sound through my Class 5user4235_pic2505_1274937842.jpg

Re: Pedals you now own and pedals you use to own

i used to own a dunlop wah, a/b switch, boss overdrive, tube screamer ts9, boss equalizer...you can count out the a/b switch but it was a valuable pedal nonetheless.

i miss my wah most. i lent it to an old friend who lent it out to his friend. the a/b switch was nice too for switching from my fender to my marshall.
