Hey guys. Currently have a typical Ibanez RG(basswood, bolt on maple neck) kitted out with the Distortion in the bridge, SSL-6 in the middle and Jazz at the neck. My main amp is a Laney Ironheart 60.
I do quite like the Distortion, but find it a touch 'small' sounding for lack of a better term. The mids are so focused it sounds thin at times for leads.
Looking for a more 'open' sounding, expressive bucker that would lend itself to a fuller lead tone and clarity/note separation but will still give me an aggressive enough rhythm tone.
Pegasus sounds great on paper but Ive seen little in the way of reviews for the 6 string model. Custom also look like a viable option.
Any thoughts and experience on how these dudes would work in a 6 string Ibby? I would use both standard and drop tuning, mostly be in C# though.
Are other idea? Custom custom, 59/custom hybrid?
