Hi everyone,

I know it isn't uncommon to hear of bridge pickups in the neck position of a guitar, but has anyone tried putting the pegasus bridge there? I'm thinking that it might be quite a cool idea, given how it is advertised as being incredibly articulate. What are your thoughts?

It will probably work fine but not sure what you think it will do that a jazz or sentient wont.

Go for it. I've used the JB in the neck and Michael Romeo uses the Tone Zone in the neck. You'll just need a hot bridge pickup.

Re: pegasus in neck position?

This certainly wouldn't be a problem, although the trick is to find a bridge pickup that would complement it, and have enough output to balance. What kind of sound are you going for? What kind of guitar? BTW, the Full Shred neck is also very articulate.

I'm just curious about this, as a thought for the future when i get another guitar (which may not be any time too soon), so I have no idea what guitar I would use. As for sound, I like a sound that has power under gain without becoming muddy and without chords that sound like a homogenized mess. When playing clean, I want a sound that is not too dark, and for every note to be distinct even if multiple strings are being allowed to ring at the same time.

btw, I use the neck pickup a lot, not very often will I touch the bridge pickup unless I'm going for a very hot sound.

Wiring it in parallel will brighten it up and lower the volume a little. I do that with all of my neck pickups.

The Jazz will get you right there too.
