Pegasus/Sentient Set

Ordered this on a whim, to try something different in my horizon (maple bolt on ash body rosewood board). I honestly don't really know what I want for this guitar, just know I wanted to try pups I haven't used before, so I'm hoping for a bit of luck haha.

I won't be surprised if you like them.

Re: Pegasus/Sentient Set

A friend of mine has that set in a Carvin (don't know the specs) but he loves them.

Re: Pegasus/Sentient Set

So I've got push/pulls set up in this guitar currently wired for series/parallel. Any reason I shouldn't stick with this, and go to coil splits? Or is the parallel more fun? Haha

Re: Pegasus/Sentient Set

Parallel and split are very close. Split is a bit more organic. Parallel is more complex with hum-canceling. You just need to try both and see what suits your taste. ;)

Re: Pegasus/Sentient Set

I've had a set of those for about six months now, buy my lazy ass has yet to install them.

Re: Pegasus/Sentient Set

The Sentient is great. One of my favorite neck pickups. I've got it in two of my guitars (a 6 and an 8-string).

Re: Pegasus/Sentient Set

I think Tosin Abasin was thinking the same, now the guy playes at SD Boot at NAMM 2016 :p

Re: Pegasus/Sentient Set

He is with us now, using them in his new signature Ibanez. I think you'll like em, and they are more versatile than their names and descriptions make them out to be.

Re: Pegasus/Sentient Set

Didn't he have a signature pair of DiMarzios?

Yeah, the Dimarzio Ionizers are/were his signature set with them. They only came out like maybe 2-3 years ago, but for whatever reason he's decided to move on. He's been playing the Pegasus/Sentient set in his new 2016 prototype guitar, and it's probably only a matter of time until he works out a new signature set with Seymour Duncan.

Also, in a similar vein, Wes Hauch's new Schecter sig is stocked with the Pegasus/Sentient as well.
