Peter Frampton Les Paul Custom/Signature Guitar

Re: Peter Frampton Les Paul Custom/Signature Guitar

Thanks!

Love Neil! Saw him and Pat earlier this year. They put on a GREAT show and Neil is a really creative player as far as I'm concerned.

would really nice to see Neil live. they were on tour with Rick Springfield for some dates this past summer and I hear Neil would come out to play his parts on Jessie's Girl....that would've been something to see. guy is a really talented musician...knowing what to play and when, thinking of the song first. also looks like he could be carrying a switchblade...in a cool way.

I was going to by a signature Gibson but I flunked the Bar Exam and they wouldn't sell it to me.

You only go around once and it's important to be happy. You'll pay-it-off eventually.

Good luck with the exam!

Take the exam again. February right around the corner. Get the guitar, it's a good one!

+1, especially if you're looking at the Frampton!

There was a music store in town when I was a teenager that had an original 70's black Custom that had been ordered from Gibson with 3 pickups. I still think about that guitar. They wanted $2k for it but this was at the time when used LP Standards were going for $800 and Customs around $1,000 and no one wanted a 70's Gibson. It was a beast though!

Having two of them (along with a Deluxe and an R9), there's nothing like a "Black Beauty" in my book!

Re: Peter Frampton Les Paul Custom/Signature Guitar

I am not a big fan of LP Customs, but the Frampton I tried just had a different feel than the regular Customs...and it was a very special guitar. Out of my price range.

Ditto for the Jimmy Page Custom. Those things have just about doubled in price since they were introduced. Really fine guitar. If you want one, you'll need an armored car to carry the cash!

He talked about "Jessie's Girl" the night we saw him, i.e., he was using the guitar he used on that song and played a bit of it if I remember correctly? He mainly used a Gretsch that night. Great piano player too!

Two of the main reasons why Frampton loves his '54 so much is that it's light-weight and the neck is slim. The Frampton Signature is chambered and as I mentioned above, the neck is like a '60s LP, so it's pretty slim.
