PGPB-1 reads 8.06K ohms

I just got a used Pearly Gates Plus bridge pickup in and as usual the first thing I do is to test the pup by taking a dc reading.
This one reads 8.06 in full humbucker mode and the individual coils read 3.90 and 4.16.
According to SD specs the pup should read 8.65 and I'm aware of a possible +/- 10% variations.
The tag on the back reads PGPB-1.
Anyone ever got on this low?
I've gone ahead a changed the A5 mag to a A2 maybe it will become a regular PG.

i had a pgb that was right around there. the coils were closer matched though. pup sounded great!

I have two, and measured a third; they were all in the 8.1-8.3k range. I have heard others post about having 8.6-8.7k models, and it was kind of inferred the older ones were wound hotter. No real proof of that, though.

mines pretty old so im not sure about that. ive heard the rumor too but dont believe it

I would expect that it will sound a lot like a regular PG but with more mids. Might even be a good pup for the neck at only 8.06k.

My PGB reads 7.9k. My PGPB-1 from a Lonestar Strat reads round 8.3k

Yep, it makes a great neck pickup. My #2 favorite after Demon.
