Phase 45 alternatives?

Re: Phase 45 alternatives?

Best cheep vibe, and IMHO it smokes the T-Rex Viper (sorry Joe!) is the Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe, which can also be had second hand for less than a bill.

I've got one of those, and it's fun as hell to play with. I bought it for $65 from someone here on the forum.

Read the post and then click away! Your post doesn't offer any info..

Yeah, I definitely said to get the Phase 45 reissue. It's exactly what he's looking for, so I don't have to justify it's perks. He's looking for a Phase 45, so get a Phase 45.

Re: Phase 45 alternatives?

I have a Mojohand Nebula... It's a bit more subtle than a 90, but still sorta more pronounced than a 45. I love it...

I've got it through a trade, so don't know the price at all... Hope it's not pricey, 'cause it is a great phaser... Very cool for my tastes.

45 is cool, but its a bit too subtle. It's cool don't get me wrong... I am not a big fan of 90's because they sorta have too much lows for my setup...

I believe it runs $170.

Re: Phase 45 alternatives?

My emphasis is on "slight" and "Sublte"

I don't care if it's phase, vibe, chorus, whatever...something a touch different. But I have been dancing around the Phase 45 thing for too long. It may be JUST what I need.

Re: Phase 45 alternatives?

I don't have any reissues, but I do have these guys...

That mid 70s script 45 is a sweet thing, although the Phase 100 will always be my favourite.

P.S. This is my 3,000th post.

I have a Microamp that would be sooo at home in that pic...

Never played/ heard a Phase 100; Can that do Phase 45 among other things?

Re: Phase 45 alternatives?

Christian's right, they all have their own sound and they don't cross into each other's territory, although at a pinch the 100 will negate the need to take out a 90 as well. The 45 is so subtle, you sometimes wonder if it's on...until you turn it off, of course..then you want to quickly turn it back on. The 100 is obviously the most versatile with its four modes, and it does stuff the other two can't get near. Actually, where it's set in that photo is one of my favourites, it's a quick underwater warble...the sort of thing you would use once in a night and leave anyone who was paying attention wondering what the heck that was. I remember a guy coming up to me at a gig once, asking how I was triggering the keyboard sounds...it was all the Phase 100.
