Phat Cat and SD Distortion in Les Paul w/ triple pups

Have a question in regards to Epiphone Les Paul Black Beauty with triple humbuckers…I have a 2020 Joe Bonamassa ‘58 Black Beauty that came with Probucker 2 in Neck and Mid and a Probucker 3 in bridge…
Wondering if anyone has any info or ideas on what it would be like if put the Probucker 3 in the neck and got a SD Phat Cat for mid and SD Distortion for Bridge…
If anyone knows how these triple humbuckers are wired, you may understand the tone/ sound I’m thinking would be possible with the combo…I want a thick but clear/ hot bluesy metal tone…or just throw the Phat Cats in the Epi burst…both could benefit from an upgrade on pups
Anyone done this or have any thoughts? Thanks!!

Great idea. Maybe the ProB 3 is a bit thick in the neck, but that's just a matter of taste and amp.
A set of PC is a bit of a one trick pony and does not do the metal as good as a Super Distortion.

It's an interesting idea. That Probucker 3 in the neck position is going to be pretty powerful....which may or may not be to your liking.
I like a pickup like that in the neck pos. for aggressive bluesy metal lead tones, personally.
But I think that pickup combination could potentially work for what you're after.
As for the burst and Phat Cats, I recently played a friend's Slash Epi that he swapped out the pickups for Phat Cats and it sounded quite good.
Angry and percussive but clear.

I have a 2020 Epi LP Standard 60's that came with the PB 2 & 3 and plan on someday putting either a Duncan Distortion or Duncan Custom in the bridge and will be leaving the PB2 in the neck. IMHO it will go just fine with either one. I hardly ever use the neck position on any guitar but I do actually like how the PB2 sounds. If I had the 3HB Epi Custom I'd probably just go with the PB2 in neck PB3 in the middle and the Distortion in the bridge. With 3 HB guitars you can either go with a neck or bridge model in the middle just depends what you end up liking. IMHO the PB 2 & 3 are pretty nice sounding PAF's and should mix good with vintage style high output HB's of the day like the Custom and Distortion.

I installed a Phat-Cat neck and SD Distortion bridge in a semi-hollow guitar. The Distortion can be a bit too aggressive if you're planning to do less high output stuff, although this combination is great for me bcs for the stuff I like to do, thick clean parts with chorus or phaser I go to the neck and heavy stuff I go to the bridge.
The Phat-Cat is single coil so you get hum.
