Phat Cat bridge... EXCELLENT

I put a Phat Cat in the bridge position of my 1970 Les Paul Deluxe. I love it! Its got all the snap and crunch of a good P90. Exellent sustain. Leads have a lot of snap without being harsh, and the low end is very clear and tight. It also balances well with the stock minihumbucker in the neck position, and the in-between setting is very, very cool.

The guitar has been tested on the Bogner Metropolis and my SLO-100. The overdrive chime is amazing. It gets along well with a Fulltone Soulbender, or I use a Kendrick Buffalo Pfuz for a clear volume boost. No mud. I was surprised that it sounded so good with the SLO-100. Very tight, and the low end was clear and punchy. For whatever reason, the tone with the SLO was very Duane-ish (and that's real, real cool).

I'll see if I can make it to the studio for some MP3 action sometime. Talk with you soon!

Randy,

That's great! I'm glad it works so well, and I'm looking forward to the clips.

I can't wait to hear them either. It sounds like someone is due for a sick day, cough cough.

Those Phat Cats really do kill in the bridge. Tone on about 6 works for me. Nice and thick with great bite.

I'm thinking of putting a P90 in a FrankenTele as a 3rd (middle) pup with a single coil in the neck and a humbucker in the bridge and having on off switches for all three.
