Phat Cat bridge pickup

Re: Phat Cat bridge pickup

How easy is it to pop the cover off a pickup like that without damaging it?

And do you happen to know if the wiring is right for an EBMM Axis Super Sport?

Re: Phat Cat bridge pickup

actually, i've never heard of anybody taking the cover off of a phat cat, so i don't even know what it looks like under the cover, but normally its easy to take the cover off, there is 2 small solder joints on the under side that you heat up and the cover should pull off easily. And i'm not sure what you mean about being "right" for that guitar, but there is no reason it wouldnt work in the guitar unless its not routed for a humbucker

Re: Phat Cat bridge pickup

I get confused over the whole "4 conductor" wire or "2 conductor" wire thing.

I have no idea how many wires/conductors my guitar accepts. I guess I should look that up instead of bugging you. :laugh2:

Re: Phat Cat bridge pickup

It will "accept" either, 4 conductor is necessary if you're wanting to do any splitting.

+1, does your guitar have splitting and such? it will work either way, but if your guitar has extra wiring features such as coil splitting, those will not work with the phat cat seeing as it is a single coil
