Phat Cat mess up?

Me and a friend were messing with his SG and put phat cats in there, but we realized they were both the B model instead of one B and one N.

Do you guys think this will pose a problem?

THANKS!!!

Re: Phat Cat mess up?

the neck unit will be a bit hotter than normal, apart from that it'll be fine!

lots of people like the JB in the neck of more shred-flavoured axes, it's a common trick to try :)

follow your ears - how do you think it sounds?

Re: Phat Cat mess up?

playing this thing, the neck pickup is major loud then you switch to the bridge it sounds kinda flat and no where near as loud, almost a little weak maybe...

is this probably because of the neck pickup being the same output as the bridge?

THANKS!!!

Re: Phat Cat mess up?

yup. try lowering the neck pup and raising the bridge pup, you may be able to get them to balance

Re: Phat Cat mess up?

we tried the lowering/raising thing and it helped.

the funny thing is, the sg running thru the amp is a big descrepincy but thru a pod xtl there wasnt a big of a difference....

good sounding pickups and that bridge in the neck does sound great if not a bit hot :)
