Phat Cat neck + P-Rails bridge: has anyone tried?

Hello everybody, has anyone tried combining a Phat Cat in the neck position with a P-Rails in the bridge position? The thing is, I have a Cort KX-1 guitar that sounds great with a Phat Cat in the neck position. Now, I don't have a Phat Cat bridge and instead I want to use a bridge-position humbucker. I'm thinking about a P-Rails that I can split and have the P-90 coil on, and in-phase and hum-cancelling when used together with the Phat Cat. I tried using a Custom 5 in the bridge slot but it sounded too thin split. I would like something bigger-sounding to better match the Phat Cat. The guitar is not fancy, just decent IMHO, but it definitely came alive with better pickups. Any input appreciated. Cheers!

This actually sounds like a good idea. If you go ahead with it, let us know how it sounds.

Just make sure you don't get the "hot" version (with A8 magnet). It is way too muddy in humbucker mode. Either the neck or bridge model (with A5) will work fine in the bridge position. The neck model has a slightly brighter tone.

When I first started using P-Rails, there were only two models...the A5 and the overwound A8. I couldn't find any use for the hot A8 model. Even with two A5 magnets in the hot version it was still too hot and muddy for my taste. To have it overwound with two A8 mags is totally ridiculous.

Thanks for your replies, guys. I will go ahead and try the A5 standard bridge model, and let you know what happens. Cheers!
