Phat Cat phase problem with a Humbucker

My apologies if this has been asked a million times before. I tried to find the answer via a search but gave up.

I have installed a Phat Cat neck and a Custom Custom bridge in a 335 copy.

The middle position (bith pickups selected) the volume is very weak and nasal sounding....so I suspect that I have a phase problem.

If I physically rotate the Phat Cat pickup by 180 degrees, will this cure the problem?.

If not, what is the best approach? (I really don't want to open up the Phat Cat to flip the magnet.)

Thanks

Dave

Rotating a pickup will not alter the phase of it in relation to the other.

My suggestion is to reverse the hot and ground leads on the CC, or flip the magnet on the CC.

In a 335, it'll probably be easier to take the bridge pickup out of the guitar without undoing the wiring, loosen the small screws holding the bobbins to the baseplate, take out the magnet from under the coils, and flip it over, then reinstall the pickup in the guitar.

Thats odd that you have a phase problem. Do you have green to ground and black to hot on the CC?
