What do you guys think? I'm thinking my next purchase to be a Second hand/cheap Jazzmaster, and get 2 phat cats and put them in her. Match made in heaven, or hell?? Or maybe one Phat cat in the neck and a quater pounder in the bridge?

Re: Phat Cats and a Jazzmaster

Well, p90s sound good in just about anything... but you'll have better luck with a Squire Jagmaster if you're going the phat cat route. No routing. There is no cheap Jazzmaster anymore :D plus the squire doesn't have the stupid, useless bridge.

That said there's nothing like a stock jazzmaster... or jaguar

Yeah, i can get a Jagmaster here in aussie land for about 500 bucks. I mean that sounds 'too cheap' tome. Anyone have any experince with them? Value for money? Or just a peice of ****e?

Hmmm... I've never been a fan of Squire stuff. I love their ideas and the look of the axes (tele with 2 p90s? Gimmegimmegimme!!!) but I played one once and it felt REALLY cheap and cr@ppy. Nowhere near as good as my Epi...

If you set up the Jazzmaster bridge with Graphtech parts, you have a very good bridge...

You will also need to tighten up the clearances between the saddle post.
