Phat Cats for which Guitar? 335 or ES-446?

Hey there experienced Phat Cat Lovers.....I have a pair of Phat Cats that I'd like to put in one of the two following guitars for the following applications. I was hoping for some opinions and suggestions! Thanks.

Ibanez 335 style Art Core guitar...would like to use this for my jazz/funk/blues stuff.....sometimes straight into the amp....sometimes with a few effects (wah, delay, fuzz or overdrive).

Gibson ES 446 (hollowbody, thin spruce top)....I'll be using this for country & rock stuff....will use with boutique effects (fuzz, overdrive, delay, Keeley Rat, wah)

which guitar would you put the Phat Cats in? For the guitar that don't get the phat cats, I'm putting in some Voodoo '59 Humbuckers....like 7.9K neck and 8.4K bridge.

Thanks all!

Oh, the amps I'm using are a BF'd mid 70's Fender Super Reverb with the original CTS alnico speakers....and a relic model Fender Blues Jr. with the Jensen P12 alnico speaker.

I might also add that the Gibson ES 446 is a brighter punchier guitar. Thins spruce top. The maple top of the Ibanez for some reason sounds warmer to me.

Welcome, I have used the Phat cats but, I am not the Phat cat guru (though I really like em). Hell, They would be cool in both guitars IMO. I am sure other folks will chime in shortly.

They'd work fine in either one. Flip a coin.

The Phat Cats, being single coils, will give you a little bit of hum, though not as much as a P90 because of the metal cover.

Thanks guys.....I go back and forth on this....but lately, I've been thinking of tossing the Phat Cats into the Gibson Es 446....for a couple reasons:

1) The Phat Cats will give me more note detail/clarity than the humbuckers

2) I love Bill Frisell...and I know he used eithe or both of the Phat Cats & Harmonic Design Z90's

I'll be using this guitar for my country/rock stuff....I'm figuring the P90ish tone is better for country than humbuckers....who knows. I gotta just try it and be able to switch them to the other guitar if I hate it....was just hoping to be "steered in the right direction"
