Philosopher's Tone vs Philosopher's Rock?

There isn't much price difference used and the Stone appears to have quite a bit more controls. Other than the slightly larger size, which does not matter to me, is there any reason to choose the Rock over the Stone?

NO ONE has an opinion on this? I'm about to pull the trigger and I could really use some helpful advice; I'm buying blind with no way to try either one out.

Looking at these two spec wise, the rock seems less tweakable on the fly. If you have an od or distortion pedal separately then i don't see the need for the getting the rock, unless you like the sound but since this is a blind buy, I'd go with the tone.

With all due respect, and despite popular opinion, some of us do not spend every waking moment online waiting to answer someone's questions about gear. You waited all of 20 minutes for a response before losing patience? Srsly ....

I own a Philosopher's Tone. Love, love LOVE it -- my favourite compressor for bass guitar, actually. I do not like the overdrive circuit, but the rest of the pedal is MINT -- amazing 1176 style compressor and a blend knob. It is capable of astonishing amounts of level output and the tone control has a really wide range, so use sparingly.

Pigtronix claims there is more compressor available in the lesser model...I love the compressor part of the Philosopher's Tone and rarely(almost never) use the dirt part...Buy the Philosopher's Tone and you should be happy enough...it already has more compressor than a 1976 MXR DynaComp to my ears...BUT you spend more and lose a bit of compression if you are truly a compressor nut.

Thank you! Exactly what I needed to know.
Just so you know, I actually waited 12 hours and 20 minutes before the followup post. (First post AM, second post PM)
