Pick a vintage (1952-60) Les Paul

Re: Pick a vintage (1952-60) Les Paul

I've seen that pic, as well. I wonder if he had 2 of them or swapped some parts around. That's got a staple and no Bigsby...

Re: Pick a vintage (1952-60) Les Paul

Yeah, I've wondered the same thing. Still, it's the only pic I remember seeing with him playing a Les Paul.

Re: Pick a vintage (1952-60) Les Paul

Ive played a few vintage 50s paulas that were amazing (and a few that were just OK). If we are talking about a daily driver, then I would actually just like my R8 back, prettier than those old Goldtops, tone was pretty much there and played nicer than all but one of them.

But..if I had to choose it would have been Gary Moore's old #2, 1959 burst..the one without the pup covers. Wonder what happened to it. That or pick and choose from Gary Richwrath's collection. Must be a Gary thing.

Tossup between Pearly for tone and Page for the, well @#$% it's Page!

Re: Pick a vintage (1952-60) Les Paul

Hey TGWIF..whats that debate over whether the Reverend Billy Gibbons has the real worlds rarest guitar, and I forgot the model name . He claims to have one, but has never produced any documentation..
The Moderne.
And it ain't.
The one he has is a clone.
BFG won't admit it out loud, but he won't let anyone look at it to confirm.

I suspect he got played and doesn't want to admit to it.

Oh, and definitely Pearly and Old Black.

I have to say that in all my years of being a Hendrix fan, I've *never* seen him playing a Les Paul.

I'm totally digging that P90 Custom.
