Pick hitting the middle pickup on new guitar ! help

Hey guys , basically ive been playing electric guitar for nearly 9 years now. I love playing classic 80s rock and metal, stuff like whitesnake, van halen, guns n roses, paul gilberty style stuff, racer x, steve vai, marco sfogli etc.
Ive been playing on my gibson SG special for the last 7 years which i have loved and hated over the years. I got used to shredding on the SG so for me to now have an Ibanez RG1XXV is now a big change but i love it so far, this guitar is amazing ! :D
1 issue i am having though is that when i am picking fast, the pick is starting to hit the middle pickup either side of / beneath the string. Now im not sure if this is because the action is too low (so the pickup is really close to the string) OR because im just not used to playing with this whammy bar/locking trem EDGE PRO II bridge...... My gibson had low action but due to the tune-o-matics raised position (compared to the EDGes lower position) and lack of a middle pickup i never had this issue of pick being too close.

Do i
a)raise the RG's bridge / raise the action a bit,
b)lower the pickup
c)adjust my technique and get used to the low bridge and middle pickup??

Thanks alot :)

I hate it when that happens. Paul gilbert even lowers his middle super low on his signature axe because he said he hits it otherwise. just lower the sucker.

I actually use an Injector Neck as my middle pickup and crank it all of the way down until it is clean out of my way.

The high output Injector Neck now works as a vintage voiced middle pickup with low output... I like it for when I want a retro vibe and tone.

Use a high output neck for your middle and crank it down as low as it goes.

I'd say, lower the pickup. Life's too short to let features you don't use get in your way. Malmsteen does the same thing with the middle pickups on his Strats, and I think it goes a long way towards improving playability on an RG or Jem -- at least for me.

Most of my habits were formed on a Telecaster with a vintage-style, stamped steel bridge. This features a raised metal edge, just waiting for stray plectrum strokes and misdirected fingertips. A few impacts and I soon learned to control my aim.
