Pick woes

I've gone through a fair few different types of picks in the years I've been playing and I still haven't found anything I can really depend on. I despise Dunlop tortex picks because they warp, I don't like those little jazz picks cause there's not enough surface to get my fingers out of the way, I love the feel and sound of nylon picks, but not their tendancy to slip out of my fingers on stage due to sweat. Delrin pics also sound really good to me for about half an hour of use before they start to wear down. I like picks with a sharp tip above all, and I don't use anything below 1.1 mm. If there's anyone who can suggest a pick type that I have failed to stumble upon, please make it known so I can end this search and focus on what my guitars actually sound like.

they are great for grip. theyre like resin, but you dont get a filmy geeling on ur fingers. and they actually help with picking techniques ive found, in certain songs.

I personally don't use them anymore, I'm in the middle of finding a pick I like best, but those fit your description to a T. It's near impossible for those things to slip.

Sweet, I'll have to try me some of those then, if only they came in a sharp tip version I'd be in heaven.

One thing I have to say though is that I live in a more rural area than most of you are used to so I may have to go into these picks blindly, buying a bag of 72. It may not be all that expensive but it's overkill to say the least.

well please dont blame us if its not what you like :rolleyes: , but based on your posts, and because they are really good picks, i will say you will not be dissapointed.

i think its nuts that a pick has not been invented as such: back of pick has "pouch" (don't know what to call it) into which you place your finger. inside of pick (pouch side) slightly curved to better fit finger. pouch made of some kind of mesh net that will snugly keep pick on finger and will have elasticity at top of pouch so it stays on finger but lets you naturally move finger. breathable mesh pouch goes to just over the first joint (the one nearest the nail) and uses the joint combined with the elasticity to keep the ringer in the pouch. the pick would be designed so there would be just the right amount of space between bottom of "finger pouch" and the tip of the pick for ideal playing (whatever that is :). In sum pick would be breathable, shaped to fit finger and best of all you could wave you hand in the air like pete townsend and the pick would not come lose...i am have picks that i got a long time ago..so long ago that i cant read the manufacture on them anymore...and they have a hold in the middle of the pick for better gripping. i have experimented by tying a string throught the hole and around my finger...let me tell you its a great feeling when you know the pick will not come lose...anyway im investigating this idea, id like some feedback thanks all. im thinking of calling it the kangaroo pick :)

i actually had some reservations even mentioning it but am planning on investigating the concept further and wanted some feedback for actual guitarists so when i saw this thread i figured id break out my as yet unpattented million dollar idea to the duncan crowd. :)

Good ideas, but the cost of setting up tooling to do an advanced project like this would be a chunk-o-change.
