Pickguard suggestions?

So I redid my squire strat from black to a stained natural wood look, I kinda like the white pickguard but I want to change it up, it's going to be a "fat strat" as my friend is giving me a "guitarnivore" pickup by chappman. Any suggestions what would look good with it? (I don't want to spend more than $20 keep in mind the pickups are going to be black) ImageUploadedByTapatalk1444150553.510244.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1444150565.643123.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1444150583.009696.jpg

Wood veneer. Especially stained. Maybe a color or wood tone. Pick the right wood or veneer and it would look amazing. It looks good so far. Nice color

Re: Pickguard suggestions?

Thank everyone! And I am considering. The white pearloid. I saw a few weird ones too

Re: Pickguard suggestions?

If the pickups were creme I would say tortoise, but with black pickups, and it doesn't look very glossy, I'd go parchment with black knobs and switch tip. Less bright than the white, with a satin finish on the wood it gives it more of a vintage look and it won't mask the pickups. I personally don't like pickups to be the same color as the guard. If I'm wrong looking at the pics and it is gloss finish then the white pearloid would look great

I'm going to be glossing it I just have to find a paintbrush lol

This ^ unless you're going for something radicaly different. The Parchment almost looks white until you hold it next to a white one. It has a softer appearance and doesn't steal all the attention away from the big picture like pearl sometimes does.

Re: Pickguard suggestions?

I had looked at a few of those! I'm just not sure if I wanna shell out $20 for a pickguard but in the end it would be worth it, I'm looking at hss though but I've seen some of those too

Re: Pickguard suggestions?

I personally like when you can see the contrast between the aged/yellowed plastic parts up against a white guard...
