Picks

Re: Picks

Wow... Those are fancy! I just checked out their site and they look pretty sweet, but the pricing and thickness kinda scared me off. Just never been able to get along with picks any heavier than 1.0mm. Still... hmmmm... [emoji6]

I was scared to in the beginning but they feel very comfortable in the hand. Alternate picking is easier IMO with the tapered design. They're in discount now + 15% extra when give in 'WIRED' as promotion code

Re: Picks

Bi-angle Tusq Graphtech 1.00mm warm, Fender Medium 346 and one of those cool vinyl record picks a forum member sent me.

For gigs I use Gravity Classic 1.5 or 2.0 mm. For recording I will usually have a lot of picks around since I am one of those guys who likes different picks for electric, acoustic, mandolin etc. My absolute favourites are Blue Chip TD 60 and TD 80 models, but they are crazy expensive and losing them strikes fear into my heart.

Re: Picks

For guitar I like Jazz III's with the dotted grip, and although I'm still learning to play bass with my fingers I revert back to Dunlop .73 nylon for a softer attack.

Re: Picks

I use Gravity Gold Series picks on all my guitars. 1mm Stealth Standard on acoustic, 1.5mm Tripp Big Mini on my Tele with flat wounds, and this one - 2.5mm Stealth Big Minis - on the rest of my electrics. These last forever; have a nice warm tone and more volume that most other picks; and have a great secure feel. I like them better than the Blue Chip I have, although that's a good pick too it sounds a bit dull compared to the Golds.

Re: Picks

I used the Dunlop black Jazz III for years, then went to the Ultex Jazz III. I also like the Ultex Sharps and am currently using the Ultex Jazz III 2.0. I would like to try the Petrucci model, I'm thinking they may be similar to the Ultex Jazz III 2.0 but a little larger.
