pickup adjustable poles

Can anyone tell me what the tonal change would be if the adjustable pole screws are cut off even to the bottom of the pickup

Thanks jeremy I knew I could find someone on this forum that could give me the answer.Years ago I had to modify some gibson pups to put in a jazzmaster intead of routing out the body. Never did know what the tonal change it had made to the pickups.Sounded very good though.

I thought it was supposed to tighten up the bass?

Doesn't really affect the bass, sure cranks up the upper mids though. So Jeremy's right.

Hmmm . . . I was going to trim the screws of my double-screw hybrid. I'm not sure I want to now. I guess I could always replace them if I don't like it. Screws are fairly cheap.

It can't hurt to try it. Easily reversed mod.
