Pickup advice APS-2

Hi folks.

I'm looking for some advice on the pickups pictured. They are APS-2's - neck and middle that came out of a boutique UK guitar.

The problem is that I'm not sure which is the middle RW pickup. Is there any way to tell from the numbers and letters stamped on the base or the sticker?

The easiest way is to compare (place face to face) with a known quantity. Do you have another Duncan single or Humbucker laying around or installed in a guitar?

unless those are some shop floor customs, those aren't aps2 pups. those are jaguar pups, not strat pups.

Re: Pickup advice APS-2

They may be a shop floor custom but designed to be close to an APS-2. They were in a Rob Williams Custom like the one in this pic.

Never heard of those. They look pretty neat. Maybe made OEM just for them?

Re: Pickup advice APS-2

Very probably I think.

I'm hoping the pickup that has the number 2 sticker will be the middle. Number 2 of 3 kind of thing.

Re: Pickup advice APS-2

I don't think the sticker will help you much, the other one probably had it too and it came off. what bridge pup are you using?

Re: Pickup advice APS-2

No reason why either single coil should be RWRP. With the date indentations in the fibreboard plates facing the same way about, you would expect one pickup of an RWRP pair to have its white and black conductors at the opposite ends of the bobbin compared to the second pickup.

Not everyone likes RWRP.
