I have a Parker Nitefly with somewhat high output "custom-wound-for-Parker DiMarzio" pickups (13k neck, 16k bridge), and I have heard from a guy that replaced the combo with a JB / 59 set that it sounded incredibly thin because there is not much wood on the guitar...Does this sound plausible? I have been thinking about pickup replacement (just because I have a mental 'stock pickups suck' mentality haha)... Would it be smart to replace the stocks with PAF style to insure the the sound will be full and round (I am thinking 7.7 neck and 8.7 bridge), or stick with a higher output pickup to match the original pickup sound? I am just worried about the 'lack of wood=sounding thin' idea...
