Im playing my guitar right now and its buzzing like crazy, even with the volume knob all the way to ....well...0. Its annoying and i know i wired it right. The volume doesnt really go down all the way either, it can be down but i can still play. Whats the problem and how can I fix it? Oh, also if I touch the volume knob and turn it, it makes cracking noises.

Re: Pickup Buzzing

I have no clue, but if I were you, I'd do this, in order:

1) Set neck bend angle using truss rod (i.e. make sure that's ok)
2) Set string height per string
3) Re-intonate guitar
4) Set all pickups to the recommended height the manual said (basically two US dimes stacked on top of each other for bridge, etc, see What to do if you don't have a ruler)
5) THEN play it and check it. If you're still having issues, have someone else double-check your wiring.
6) If everything else seems ok, check the guitar cable.

If your still gettiing noise and the volume is at zero, your have a defective pot or the wiring is wrong.

Re: Pickup Buzzing

The pot needs cleaning by a tech or replacing. A friend of mine had the same problem and a technician cleaned his pot but told him that he must replace it soon.
