Pickup change out question

I've never changed out pickups in a guitar, so I'm sure this is a very rookie question. I have a Dean Custom 350 Floyd that I was thinking of dropping in a pair of Duncan's to replace the factory humbuckers. My question is this. The factory pickups have coil tap or coil splitting, will I be able to do that with replacement Duncan's? I'm thinking of a JB in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck.

Re: Pickup change out question

Coil splitting (turning off one of the two coils in a humbucker), as long as the replacements are 4-conductor versions of the pickups, yes.

Coil tap requires a specialized pickup where the coil is tapped halfway through the winds. That term is often incorrectly used when really speaking of coil splitting.
