pickup color choice...hmmm what goes with strippers?

sorry guys no nakedness in here just my "in-lays" as they have been called hehe. anyway i'm going to be swapping out my duncan designed hb102s for the real deal JB and Jazz combo and can't decide on what color(s) to use so i ask for yur help. i'm thinking of something wild for once...all my guitars have black pickups while nice...a bit blah. so what do i do?

pink and black zebra?
red and black zebra?
green and black zebra?
a mix of green and black zebra and pink and black zebra?
all green?
all pink?
one green one pink?
all red?
etc...

any ideas...i'm up for something wild to go with the inlays and since the guitar is black any color will go. please give me some ideas guys...thanks!

red/black zebra would be hot, either that or just all black or chrome covered. Anything else I think crosses over into the ugly zone

I am not a fan of Rio grande pickups but they have Mother of toilet seat and silver sparkle tops either of which would look deadly, my preference being silver sparkle.

You can get some really cool contact paper in silver sprakle at Michael's and see how they look. Otherwise I go all black or chrome.

thanks for the ideas guys...my only problem with chrome is that the bridge, knobs and tuners on it are satin chrome so chrome pickups would look a bit odd. my other idea (the more $$$ one lol) was to change all the hardware over to chrome along with chrome pickup rings and black JB and Jazz or the "bloody zebra" red and black zebras haha. also, i never once looked into rio grande pickups...i didn't know they had sparkle pickups, that's pretty cool...a sparkly muy grande may find it's way into a different guitar sometime down the road.

Black open coils, or chrome covers......IMO EMG's would be coolest, and it looks like a guitar that should have EMG's in it anyway.

thanks for all the good ideas guys!! i didn't even think of black and white zebras...that would match the white binding well, i may do that.

tat...i used to stick EMGs in everything lol but i got a bit bored of the sound and wanted a bit more warmth to my sound and switched to duncans...in my next guitar i plan to try some :smack: ...dimarzios...just to try something new. i agree though, emgs would look good but this guitar must have a JB/Jazz combo b/c it's at the moment my main guitar and i like the HB102 set in it now, i just want the real deal in there. i still have a few EMG equipped guitars for when i want all out killer metal!!

I would either go red/black or for a little feminine touch(for the ladies) pink/black. Maybe MJ could wind you a set of bitchbuckers.

That's why you use an 85 in the bridge and not the 81. The 85 is a smoking good bridge pup. 85/60 would kill in that guitar.

heh, i got a black sz320, same body shape as yours, i put purple in it. dimarzios though, don't know if duncan has purple. it looks.......different for sure, kind of grows on ya.
