Pickup Combo for metal.......

Re: Pickup Combo for metal.......

Ok, i moved the Dimebucker to the neck, and put the X2N into the bridge. The X2N is great, and the Dimebucker sounds great in the neck! Sounds alot better than the stock setup. The guitar even sounds great clean. I think the Dimebucker sounds different in the neck position. Anyway, Im happy with the sound. I use a Spider, and im always on the insane setting, or clean setting. By the way, i followed drexs advice, and installed the Dimebucker low in the neck (lower compared to the bridge pickup)

if anyone cares anymore, i have a little input on the dimebag situation with high gain pups v. high gain amps.....

now im not saying i play music anything close to dimes, and i dont want to cop his tone at all. in fact mine sounds nothing like his.

but i actually have the exact same model randall he used to play in the cowboys days, early/mid 80s solid state randall (i dont know the exact model number because it doesnt say it on the amp) but its not high gain at all. oddly enough but it does sound pretty *****ing. if you push it, itll defintely push back.
