Pickup cover question

So I am replacing the EMGs in a schecter with JB and Jazz and want to sell the EMGs. My question is what's going on with these pickup covers? Are they supposed to look distressed? Tried brasso and a few other things to no avail. Thanks.

Re: Pickup cover question

How is it that the pickup looks like it's been through fire and impacts from sharp instruments...

yet the EMG logo is completely intact?

Yeah I'm almost certain that they are distressed. (And the person did a damn good job)

Side Note: What EMG's are those? (They usually have markings on the back) and do they have a Quick Connect [Solderless] system?

They came like this from Musicians Friend blow out sale. Guitar usually $999 and this was like $500. I thought they were tarnished until I tried to clean

That looks like the black chrome finish has been played off, you can see the same effect to a lesser degree on the bridge. I don't know how durable schecter/emg's coating is, but Ibanez's smoke black (cosmo black) is a garbage finish and you can wear through the transparent black to the chrome pretty fast.

If that's the way they came from MF, they are either distressed/reliced at the factory; or the guitar was used and returned to MF.

In either case, reread the provided description of the guitar more carefully. Not everything you buy will be the way you expect it to look. MF always tells you what you are buying.

Re: Pickup cover question

Musicians Friend "open box" item returned by a buyer who had a cat name Lisalott who sprayed it with corrosive, territory marking urine ...
