Pickup Covers for JB jr / Lil 59 type

Can the pickup covers be changed on the JB jr from White to Black ones or are they non-removeable ?


I bought a White JB jr for one of my strats and it still sounds like it has a single coil in there, so I want to swap it out to my other strat which has black pickups in it.

Rather then the guitar looking like a Zebra, I would rather all the pickup covers be black.

No, the color can't be changed. Did you check that it is wired up properly?

Yeap... The JB junior pickup is pretty fat sounding, definitely different from a single coil.

No, the color can't be changed. Did you check that it is wired up properly?

Yep, its all wired up OK.

I was warned that the single coil HB's dont have the same thickness as a full size HB prior to buying it.

I have and use 3 strats, one is a standard untouched USA series, the other is a USA fat ( full size HB in the bridge ) and the one I fitted the JB jr to is a 6 month old American Standard Alder strat with maple board.


It sounds like a hot single coil, and I can still hear that signature single coil sound. I could be comparing a full size HB equipped strat next to this one, but either way it sounds like a single coil ?
