Pickup design idea

So, I really dig the TV Jones Hilotron in my Gretsch Neck position. Been thinking about having that tone family in my telecaster. It seems possible, but no one makes one.

The idea would be similar to the Lil 59..., but instead of the Humbucker dual coil design, you keep only one of the "mini" coils, and in the space of the other coil, you put the side magnet (like on Hilotrons). Call it the Lil HT! Doesn't seem like that would be too hard to pull off, assuming you can get the right strength magnet in the space, and room for the proper number of windings and wire.

Who wouldn't want a tele with a Lil 59 in the Bridge and a Lil HT in the neck?

If this exists somewhere, I haven't been able to find it. Closest thing is the TV Jones Starwood, based on a DeArmond / Dynasonic design - they sound good, but not quite the same thing.

Based on the "TV Jones Pickup Tone Spectrum", it looks like the Starwood Tele is closer to the TV-HT than the T-Armond. You could always send them an email to see if they could make you one that is even more similar in sound...

The thing to consider is specifying a particular construction does not always result in the expected sound. You would be better off telling an experienced winder the sound you want to make, and the profile of pickup you need it to fit into, and they'll determine what construction might possibly make that sound, or not.

Most modern teles are routed for humbuckers at the neck. Should be fairly easy to get a custom guard cut for the pickup you want.
